2010 US Women’s Cricket Open Champion – TRI-STATE LYNX

LAUDERHILL – The Connecticut Tri-State Lynx Women’s Cricket Team forever etched their names into a new chapter of American sports history by winning the First US Women’s Cricket Open Championship at the Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida. Led by Coach Linden Fraser and Manager Basil Butcher Jr., the Lady Lynx dominated the New York Warriors 58 to 57 in the Championship Match of this historic Women’s Open.

The Lynx overwhelmed all their opponents for three days with their deadly combination of speed and power, and the Finals Match was no different. Lynx bowlers Triholder Marshall 2 for 10 and Indomatie Goordial-John 1 for 12 silenced the Warrior bats allowing only 57 runs. The Lynx powerhouse bats were led by Monique Mathee 35 not out and Karen Bayles 7 not out.

As winner of the inaugural US Women’s Cricket Open Champion, the Connecticut Tri-State Lynx were awarded the Championship Trophy and First Prize check of $3,000.00 by Mahammad Qureshi of Cricket Council USA and T20 Energy Drinks. In their pre-US Women’s Open team profile, Lynx Coach Fraser confidently stated “that the Lynx were the leading women’s cricket program in the country.” The Connecticut Tri-State Lynx have certainly backed up their coach’s statement by winning the big one. The Lady Lynx Cricketers now rule the USA as the First US Women’s Cricket Open Champion.
