Minister Bartlett will attend several important meetings with tourism interests including representatives of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association and the International Air Transport Association.

In making his contribution to the 2016/17 Sectoral Debate on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, Minister Bartlett emphasized that cruise marketing has now been added to the portfolio of the Ministry of Tourism as part of a strategic move to further boost cruise arrivals.

This trip therefore forms part of the aggressive cruise marketing efforts being undertaken by the Ministry through the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) to develop the sector.

“The JTB’s cruise marketing initiative will entail intensified efforts to market the destination directly to cruise customers and marketing agents, promoting local attractions as well as to drive cruise conversion,” said Minister Bartlett.

The Minister is being accompanied by the Jamaica Director of Tourism, Paul Pennicook.
