MIAMI – The Jamaican Diaspora Southern United States proudly presents the second annual Caribbean Youth Form – “One Community, One Family, One Future.” A new energy is brought to this year’s Forum as it has been expanded to include topics pertinent to youth from all islands of the Caribbean.
This revitalization is in celebration of June 2009’s 4th National Caribbean American Heritage Month, recognizing the numerous contributions people of Caribbean descent have made to the United States.
The June 6, 2009 Caribbean Youth Forum, will be held at the South Regional-Broward College Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can look forward to dynamic speakers and panelists from all walks of the Caribbean. Count on engaging and dynamic panel discussion on Supporting Our Students, Getting Involved and, the Influence of our Music and Culture.
The free-of-charge, one day Caribbean Youth Forum, aimed at South Florida high school, college and graduate students, seeks to enlighten and engage our young leaders in discussion relevant to their success in the U.S. and abroad.
The forum is open to all Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach young professionals and students. Student organizations, sororities and fraternities are encouraged to register participants.
