WI Caribbean Festival Celebrates Caribbean & Brazilian Culture

SOUTH FLORIDA – In honor of Caribbean American Heritage month, WI Caribbean will be celebrating Caribbean & Brazilian cultures and the contributions made in South Florida with a fun filled festival for the entire family.

WI Caribbean will feature Caribbean and Brazilian Cuisine, Arts & Crafts, Culture, Commerce and Live International Entertainment on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Wayne Huizenga Park 32 Las Olas Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale from 1pm-10pm.

Yolanda Henry, the Event Organizer of WI Caribbean has been hosting the Miss Miami Broward Carnival Pageant (MMBCP) for the past 10 years.  According to Yolanda, “The pageant allows us to educate our young women on their rich Caribbean Culture”.  “This year we   decided to take this a step further by celebrating Caribbean Heritage Day and added a twist to the festival by including our neighbor from south of the Caribbean, Brazil which will be also featured”.

MMBCP/WI Caribbean recognizes, promotes and hopes to educate the residents of South Florida as well as visitors about our rich Caribbean and American Heritage and what makes us such a unique and positive blend.

Patrons attending the WI Caribbean Festival will enjoy the sweet sounds of steel pan music, International Soca Artist 5 Star Akil, from Trinidad, will be performing, samba music and dancers from  Brazil, reggae music and as well the fusing sounds of the Americas.

WI Caribbean will be fun for the entire family as the kids visit the bounce-house as well as the arts and crafts booths through-out the event.

Admission is $15 pre-sold at www.wicaribbean2016.eventbrite.com or $20 at the gate, kids 12 and under are free.
