FORT LAUDERDALE – The Victoria Mutual Building Society’s (VMBS) Florida Representative Office, in partnership with the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting their ‘Wine and Cheese Mixer’, a corporate and small business networking event.
Scheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at the JERK MACHINE, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the event will welcome various business persons and corporate representatives from the Jamaican Diaspora. Guests will be able to exchange business cards, as well as benefit from talks aimed at providing insight about Victoria Mutual’s Foreign Exchange Mortgage rate reductions, as well as the benefits of the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce, all in a relaxed atmosphere.
Members of the Diaspora and other guests are invited to mix and mingle, following which they will enjoy a brief talk about the Company’s new mortgage rates, presented by Manager for the VMBS Florida Representative Office, Miss Suzette D. Rochester. The institution recently announced a special rate of 6.85%p.a. for foreign exchange mortgages in USD, CAD and Sterling, and 9.39%p.a. for new Jamaican dollar mortgages. Another goal of the mixer is to encourage membership in the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce, allowing businesses to grow based on a wider network of support.
According to Miss Rochester, “We are pleased to have created a forum for VMBS, the Chamber and members of the business community to come together for a productive evening to not only meet new contacts and strengthen the linkages within the Diaspora, but to provide them with the opportunities which we have created for them. These factors make the event invaluable.”
Chamber President, Marie Gill, hails the event as “another great example of the strong partnerships that the Chamber has developed with corporate citizens such as Victoria Mutual, in order to present a diversity of benefits and networking opportunities to our members and to the Jamaican Diaspora.”
She added that the March 29th event is of particular importance as it also represents the Chamber’s Salute to Jamaican Women in recognition of International Women’s History Month in March.
