US based organization to provide dental care in rural Jamaica
MIAMI – Dental care is often times neglected because individuals place little emphasis on its importance. Very often, poor dental health leads to other health problems. Many rural folks all over the world face this problem and so the DENTAL PLACE has embarked on a mission to tackle this issue, one community at a time.
Last year it started in rural St. Andrew, Jamaica at a place called Gordon Town, where over 400 persons were seen. The next rural community will be Great Valley in Hanover Jamaica, with an aim to treat at least 500 persons, especially children.
This can be a costly exercise and could not be done without the support of Air Jamaica who offered air transportation, Sandals Foundation who offered accommodation, the Caribbean American Foundation, Digicel Jamaica, along with other members of the Jamaican Community in North America who provided Financial support.
