MIRAMAR – At the recently held 6th bi-annual Jamaica Diaspora Conference 2015 at the Miramar Civic Center, Minister Brown, Jamaica’s Minister of State with responsibility for Diaspora Affairs, encouraged the full participation in the Conference by the Jamaican Diaspora Community, “as there are numerous business opportunities to be gleaned at the Conference”.
The theme of the six-day Conference is “Jamaica and the Diaspora: Linking for Growth and Prosperity”, and will focus on investment and trade opportunities and social services, the role of the faith based organizations in development, and health and education.
The Conference will be convened at the Montego Bay Convention Center in St. James, and is open to all persons of Jamaican descent living overseas, and will also provide the opportunity to align the skills and expertise that reside in the Diaspora with business and social development in Jamaica.
In 2013, the Diaspora saw a record number of 1500 participants and each participated in the Market Place, a major exposition of local and Diaspora based products and services and Business to Business networking sessions. These will also be the highlight at this year’s Conference.
