MIAMI – The Trinidad and Tobago Consulate General in Miami, Florida is accepting applications for processing of the Machine Readable Passports. All first time applicants for this passport must appear in person (your picture will be taken at the Consulate). Based on the expected turnout and to prevent long wait times making an appointment is preferred.
Appointments can be made by calling the Consulate office, at 305-374-2199 ext 325.
Walk-ins will also be processed on a first come first served basis, however persons with appointments will be processed first.
The cost for one passport is $60.00
For persons not living in the State of Florida, the Consulate General plans to schedule visits to States falling under the jurisdiction of the Consulate in order to facilitate the applications for Machine Readable Passports. These States include, Alabama, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennesse, Texas, Kentucky and Mississippi.
Persons applying for the Machine Readable Passport must have the computerized Birth Certificate. The Computerized Birth certificate is best obtained via a family member in Trinidad and Tobago who can be authorized by the individual to collect it in Trinidad and Tobago. However, the computerized Birth Certificate can be applied for at the Consulate but this process takes much longer. Persons still wishing to obtain the Birth Certificate from the Consulate, please find attached the Letter of Authorization as well as instructions to apply for the Birth Certificate at the Consulate General.
Passport application forms are available at the Consulate which is located at 1000 Brickell Avenue, Suite 800, Miami Fl, 33131. However it is strongly advised that persons applying for the Machine Readable Passport visit the Consulate website at www.ttcgmiami.com or www.immigration.gov.tt and download the forms onto a legal sized sheet of paper and complete the forms before coming to the Consulate.
