Top US Gospel group heading to St. Lucia

CASTRIES, St. Lucia – St. Lucians will be uplifted by the joyful sounds of top American gospel group Carl Jenkins and X’altation when they touch down in the “Helen of the West” this June.

SpeakEasy M.E.D.I.A., producers of the “The Walk: Sanctuary for the Soul” women’s seminar, to be held June 8-11 at Coco Resorts, announced that the Trenton, New Jersey-based music group will minister in word and song to hundreds at Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort during an evening “The Walk Gospel Concert” on Saturday, June 10, 2006.

“Carl Jenkins and X’altation are divinely electrifying and will bring you into the very presence of God,” promised Andria Hall, president of SpeakEasy M.E.D.I.A., and facilitator of the women’s conference. “Theirs is more than a concert – it is a first class act and worship at its highest,” notes Hall, who said the concert is open to women, men, and children. “I am thrilled they have agreed to join us for the event and the concert, and I am sure St. Lucia will be blessed by them.”

Carl Jenkins, a versatile tenor with a five octave range, grew up in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and got his “big break” in 1986 when he and his brother Earl won first place at the McDonald’s GospelFest, landing their first record deal with Savoy Records. The Jenkins Brothers are four-time winners of the Gospel Academy Awards and have been the recipients of several other honors.

In 2005, The Jenkins Brothers formed IMAJN Records, Inc., a gospel recording company. Carl is the first featured artist on the record label and he is joined by X’altation, a young, energetic, Spirit-filled group he personally trained over the past few years.

Carl has successfully maintained his place in music ministry and business for more than 20 years, sharing the stage with gospel greats Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark-Sheard, The Winans, Vickie Winans, Kim Burrell, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, Richard Smallwood, Kurt Carr, and Commissioned. Visit www.imajnrecords.com for more information.

Concert tickets, which go on sale on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, can be purchased from Coco Resorts.

LUCELEC, St. Lucia’s electricity company, is an official sponsor of The Walk Gospel Concert.
