Support Needed For the 2016 Fort Lauderdale Walk MS

MS Walk

Fort Lauderdale – Join the fight against MS by participating in the 2016 Fort Lauderdale Walk MS on Saturday, April 2 at the George English Park (1101 Bayview Drive Fort Lauderdale).

Over 500 individuals who have a parent, grandparent, sibling, or friend living with MS will raise money for their loved one and the 7,500 other South Floridians with MS.

“Walk MS empowers the community to take action to create a world free of MS. The event connects people who want to do something about MS now, and the funds raised make meaningful differences in the lives of people with MS,” said Karen Schneier Dresbach, chapter president of the National MS Society, South Florida Chapter.

Last year, the walk raised over $60,000, which will support vital programs and services for South Floridians affected with MS, helping them address daily challenges. To continue funding research and assisting fellow South Floridians, a $50 fundraising target has been set for participating adults, and a $25 for participating students, ages 13-17.

Participants who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative Walk MS t-shirt. Additionally, in the months leading up to the event, participants who raise $50 will be eligible to win gift cards to Texas de Brazil, Grand Luxe, Miami-Dade Youth Fair, Total Wine and more.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host the walk in conjunction with local sponsors. The event will be a fun-filled day for the family and will include a light breakfast, entertainment and the opportunity to remember the day by taking team photos. Check-in begins at 7 a.m., and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
