Miami New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will visit Florida to voice support for FairDistricts Amendments 5 and 6. Mayor Bloomberg will join Former Miami Mayor and Chairman of FairDistrictsFlorida.org Manny Diaz on Friday, October 15, 2010, for a press conference at 11 am, to stress the importance of Amendments 5 and 6 to Florida’s future.
Mayor Bloomberg has been a vocal advocate of redistricting reform in New York and California. He will urge support of Amendments 5 and 6 to fix the broken system in Florida.
FairDistricts Amendments 5 and 6, on the ballot this November, will add new rules to the State Constitution for politicians to follow in redistricting, to make sure they protect voters’ interests, not their own.
