New Jamaican television program provides island update for South Floridians

Jamaicans in south Florida now have an added opportunity to learn about happenings on the island with a new daily television program.

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS) show, which airs at 7:30 p.m. on Comcast channel 19 in Dade, and channel 76 or 79 in Broward, covers a wide range of subject matter including developments in the Jamaican economy, features on the nation’s rich history and culture and highlights the creativity and innovation of the Jamaican people.

According to Don Daly, president of CRI Communications, the new programming is all encompassing and looks at several aspects of life in Jamaica. Produced by JIS in Kingston, the local production was jointly coordinated by Daly and Althea Buchanan, manager of JIS television in Kingston.
