NEGRIL, Jamaica – On May 27, 2013 Winston Wellington, Chairman, Negril International Wellness Hospital (NIH) announced to the Jamaican media and it diaspora the details of the staging of the NIH Gala Dinner Dance Fundraiser. The Gala Dinner Dance Fundraiser will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013 at the Grand Palladium, Lucea, Hanover commencing at at 6:00 p.m.
The Master of Ceremonies will be Canon, Calvin McIntyre, a New York based Anglican/Episcopal Priest, known to be one of the world’s most comical priests that will make you laugh & laugh, until you cry!
The Chairman of the Board, speaking as the ‘voice of the people’ of Negril during the interview said “I have seen many untimely deaths caused by the lack of a multi-diagnostic hospital in Negril and it pains me greatly. The NIH project is what Negril needs as a complete resort to hasten the return of the Jamaican Diaspora and to increase visitors to our destination.”
Professor Winston G. Mendes Davidson, MBBS DTM&H, JP, CD, Head of School of Public Health & Health Technology will be the keynote speaker. Professor Davidson is the pioneer in developing and deploying the National Primary Health Care program throughout Jamaica, which is still in existence for more than 30 years.
The NIH Board will honor three Jamaican stalwarts: Professor Eldemire Shearer , wife of former Hon. Prime Minister Hugh Shearer, ON, PC, OJ, LLD one of the greatest leaders of our time (JIS); Vincent HoSang, OD,CEO/Pres. of Royal Caribbean Bakery/ Caribbean Food Delights and Patricia Chin, OD- Founder of VP Records.
