MIAMI – Known for their contemporary and thought provoking reggae lyrics, Morgan Heritage will be replacing Luciano and the Jah Messenger band tour package with Warrior king and Bonnie Casey at the Miami Reggae Festival to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Peacock Park, Miami from 3pm – 11pm.
Due to unforeseen conditions, Luciano’s Management have been unable to resolve pressing immigration issues as it relates to the artist being able to travel to or perform in the United States. “The late delivery of this news will cause much disappointment to all the supporters waiting to see his appearance for the festival.” stated Alfonso D’Niscio Brooks, event producer, he expressed “Behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining and so it is all is in Divine Order that we present “Another Rockaz Moment” Morgan Heritage for the Rockaz MVMT.”
A scheduled free event, the Miami Reggae Festival is focused on the mission to eradicate food insecurity in the community. Patrons are being asked to bring 2 or more non-perishable food items to gain entry all going to Curley’s House, a food bank in Miami that supports those experiencing food deprivation.
With the cause as the focal point, the Morgan Heritage Family agreed to come together from their solo projects for this special occasion to deliver a one-time USA performance to satisfy the hungry and quench the thirst of the less fortunate. In the name of Roots, Rock, Reggae they will perform classics as: “Don’t Haffi Dread”, “Liberation, Down by The River”, “Jump Around”, “Protect us Jah”, the ladies classic “She’s Still Loving Me” and so many more. They will join a line up as diverse as Miami itself with the socially conscious Latin sensations from Puerto Rico – Cultura Profetica, Colombia – Ephniko, Haiti – Jahfe, and Miami – Spam All Stars. The musicians themselves represent a collective consciousness of cultural awareness and of giving back.
As the aroma of Jerk Chicken, Curry Shrimp, Steam Snapper, Beef Patties and Oxtails fill the air, patrons can expect a positive family fun filled day of the arts, and remember our children’s zone for all families to enjoy. It’s a picnic celebrating life while helping the less fortunate.
