Montreal to host Third Annual International Reggae Festival

MONTREAL, Canada – Mark your calendars for the 3rd annual Montreal International Reggae Festival 2006 this July 14th-16th at the Old Port of Montreal (Jacques Cartier Pier and Place Bonsecours Pier).

Now in its third year, the festival features Caribbean flavors such as Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and Reggaeton, with a preview of the Caribbean’s latest talents as well as a throwback to the classics.

The festival features the biggest and brightest talents out of Jamaica and the Caribbean, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Reggae A-list performers for the Montreal International Reggae Festival include multi-platinum selling dancehall artist Shaggy; son of reggae legend Bob Marley, acclaimed singer and actor Ky-mani Marley; socially-conscious roots crooner Richie Spice; veteran Reggae ambassador Barrington Levy; Guyana’s biggest rising conscious singer Natural Black; and Trinidadian gospel singer Sherwin Gardner.

The festival’s performances are capped off with the Heineken Music Official After-parties. Friday night is Asylum Night with the selectors from Jamaica’s world-famous Asylum Club coming straight from Kingston with the latest singles, dubs, and dances tearing up Yard. The ladies of Dancehall grace Montreal for Saturday’s Ladies Dancehall Night and a surprise female artist!
