Miami-Dade County Public Schools to offer On-Site Employment Opportunities at All-in-One, All-Around Business Fair

Miami-Dade – Miami-Dade County Public Schools is scheduled to host an All-in-One, All-Around Business Fair on Monday, December 7, 2015  from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miami Central Senior High School located at  1781 N.W. 95th Street in Miami.  There will be a brief program beginning promptly at 3:30 p.m.

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools first-ever all-inclusive business fair is free and open to residents of Miami-Dade.  The fair will include employment opportunities for job seekers, technical training for employment, information on how to do business with M-DCPS and certification opportunities for small and minority women business enterprises.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho, school and district administrative staff, local employers, prime contractors, subcontractors, workforce/construction representatives, and community residents will all be in attendance.

More than 25 local employers (prime contractors and subcontractors) as well as the M-DCPS Transportation and Maintenance departments will be on hand to interview and offer jobs to qualified applicants. Staff from the Office of Economic Opportunity and the Office of Procurement Management Services will be available to provide current and potential school district vendors with vital information on acquiring certification, upcoming goods and services bids, and how to become a vendor and how to do business with M-DCPS.

The school district’s Adult and Career Technical Education Department will provide information regarding training opportunities in the following workforce areas: air conditioning; building construction/carpentry; CDL/bus driving; cabinet making; electricity; heavy equipment operation; masonry; plumbing; tile setting; welding, and core construction.
