Let’s Do it in the Caribbean to Mentor Interns

Negril, Jamaica – Let’s Do it in the Caribbean.com is a new online directory that is marketing and promoting Caribbean products and services locally, regionally and internationally. Its mission is to be the Premier Online Caribbean Directory by uniting Caribbean countries as one Marketplace.

For seven weeks this summer, Let’s Do It in The Caribbean.com will provide business training for seven interns in the Negril Chamber of Commerce Computer Lab at Vendor’s Plaza, Negril, West End.

The interns are Favia Foster and Crystal Parkinson, second year business degree students and Glenton Rowe, final year B.Sc. business degree candidate from Montego Bay Community College. They are joined by Oshane Craft and Sahai McNeish, Negril area High School students, placed by Power to Be International, a Canadian-based company that is hosting its annual camp at the Negril All Age school.

The interns will be learning and applying internet research, data entry in a specialized interactive web directory computer programme, as well as, maintaining the social network business webpages, and applying analytical and clerical skills across the various categories of Media, Caribbean Foundations, Caribbean Heroes, Caribbean Speakers, Education, Transportation and numerous other areas.

Mr. Dionne J. Kelly, V.P. PanaCarib Business Solutions, is the Internet Technology trainer.

On Monday, July 2nd, the students were given an introduction to the company’s business culture which is based on positivity, productivity and teamwork. The students were shown a few motivational videos, followed by a motivational talk that set the tone for a very productive week.


Montego Bay Community College Interns

Two interns will be assigned to the Negril Chamber of Commerce to assist with administrative duties, maintaining its website, while learning the functions of the historical Chamber of Commerce. The Negril Chamber of Commerce is unique in its approach to promoting the destination. It has placed an emphasis on environmental preservation which is at the core of the success of each member, the community and Negril’s sustainable future development.

Mr. Damian Salmon, President of the Negril Chamber of Commerce and the Directors have given their approval and blessings on the joint venture, which has gotten off to a smooth start.
