KINGSTON, Jamaica – Prime Minister Bruce Golding has congratulated Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar on the victory of the People’s Partnership in yesterday’s general elections in Trinidad and Tobago.
In a statement today, Mr. Golding noted that the alliance which she led had won a decisive victory securing 27 of the 41 seats in the House of Assembly.
Mr. Golding said he looked forward to working with the new Prime Minister and her government in strengthening the relations and cooperation between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago as well as in pursuing the CARICOM agenda for the economic and social development of the Caribbean region.
Mr. Golding said he looked forward to welcoming Mrs. Persad-Bissessar to Jamaica for the CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in July.
