GARDEN PARISH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The project envisions that a 100 acre parcel of land be identified (Lydford) where a tourist can pay $10 to plant a tree, a flower, a vegetable plot and purchase a kid, calf or pig and give the community to grow with a name associated with each animal in the project.

Plants can be obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, Bodles or Cranbrook Gardens. Tourists in the plant a tree environmental program can be encouraged to travel with their own seeds, cuttings, eggs, etc. that will grow.

St Ann Hotels can sponsor project

For instance Sandals may sponsor a cattle-rearing project growing cows or special pigs for jerk pork. Riu Hotel may sponsor a sugar cane plot producing (cane juice- GUARAPO and cane cubes- CANA CORTADA in plastic bags. Bahia Principe may
sponsor Yellow Yams and Dasheen (plastic packed), Jamaica Grande may want to specialize in goats and spices and Breezes and Hedonism doing dried fruits and foods such as plantain, banana, potato and cassava chips.

Floral exports would be encouraged as the tourist would have the name of their country printed on the packaging for example ‘Grown in Jamaica by Condeleesa Rice of Birmingham Alabama USA’.

Moneague lake Skating Rink and water sports to include jet skis and family sports bar. A resident disco. Let’s put some of the machines that Margaret likes into an area of this mid
