Jamaica’s election date causes Port Royal Music Festival to change dates

PORT ROYAL, Jamaica – Paradise Communications, the promoters of the Port Royal music festival have officially decided to moved the event from August 24- 26 due to conflict with the impending 2007 general elections, which will occur on August 27th. The official date of the festival is now set for September 7-9, 2007.

The weekend event was rescheduled to ensure that patrons get the opportunity to enjoy the full Port Royal experience as well as comfortably exercise their right to participate in the elections.

The Port Royal music festival, Kingston’s premier music festival, will maintain its high standard of quality that is characteristic of Paradise Communications. The line up has not been affected by the date change and the festival will still boast international superstars Brian McKnight, Regina Belle and Maxi Priest along with local singing sensations Tarrus Riley and his father Jimmy Riley, just to name a few.

The signature celebrity party will be kicking of the festivities on September 7th. The main show will be on the 8th followed by Jazz on the Harbor on the 9th , which will tune down the weekend on a smooth and mellow note. From September 7- 9 Jamaica can expect for Port Royal to truly be transformed and restored to its olden days of glory.
