Jamaica’s Alliance With Travelocity Reaping Tremendous Success

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is reporting remarkable success as a result of its collaborative efforts with Travelocity. The JTB points out that at the end of July 2009, Travelocity has seen an increase of 23 percent in room night sales for Jamaica over last year, adding that its overall Jamaica sales at the end of July surpassed the total consumed room nights for all of 2008.

According to statistics released by Travelocity, the online travel company is pacing 28 percent ahead of last year and should this continue, will exceed projections for Jamaica sales for 2010. Travelocity has also reported that it has sold 40 percent more Jamaica room nights in July over the corresponding period last year.

Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch believes this underscores the popularity of Jamaica as a great vacation option. “We are excited that our relationship with Travelocity has resulted in such significant benefits for Jamaica and look forward to strengthening the bonds of cooperation. We hope that more people will utilize Travelocity’s shopping engine to book their vacation and visit our wonderful destination to experience first-hand the amazing offerings.”

“We are excited by these results for Jamaica,” said Patricia Larocca, director partner marketing Travelocity. “Summer has been a busy period and we are pleased that Jamaica has enjoyed a bumper July as a result of the collaboration of two great brands.”
