Jamaican recruitment web-site expands to Trinidad

PORT OF SPAIN – Following their successful launch in May 2005, in Jamaica, www.splashjamaica.com recently launched www.SplashTT.com to fall in line with the Caribbean Single Market and its ethos of a single regional market.

Providing a replica service to Trinidad & Tobago and by extension the eastern Caribbean, John O’Donoghue CEO is very pleased that such a bold move was made possible on the back of the success of www.splashjamaica.com.

Trinidad & Tobago may have been slow to embrace the internet revolution but market developments indicate that all that is about to change. www.SplashTT.com represents the latest evidence that domestic e-commerce services are on the rise and now T&T employers and jobseekers are no longer restricted to an often cumbersome traditional recruitment process.

The site is based on the hugely successful US and European models and includes all one would expect from a careers website. Employers are offered a variety of packages that best suit their needs, from the small firm to the multi-national. Employers can also manage their accounts online. Furthermore, employers will have access to a database of the best talent in Trinidad&Tobago, where they can screen candidates to find those that best fit their requirements. Jobseekers can search and apply for jobs on the site, as well as receive ‘job alerts’ that best fit their chosen fields, get career advice and guidance.

“SplashTT.com fills the gap in the market, where there was no conventional careers website catering to the T&T market”, says CEO John O’Donoghue. “Now with www.SplashTT.com, jobseekers have a site where they can find the best jobs available, while employers now have a portal where they can pinpoint talent far more efficiently.”

“Our sites simplify and streamline the recruitment process, leading to a far more satisfying experience for all” says O’Donoghue who also expects the new website to be well received by those who have long since emigrated from the Caribbean. “Initially, our Jamaican site provided a portal where Jamaican’s could watch closely developments at home, but with the growing Caricom popularity of the maiden site and now the addition of www.SplashTT.com we hope to significantly improve the attraction value of Splash’s brand relative to Caribbean job finding”.

With the recent CSM initiative all efforts will soon become concentrated on a pan Caribbean template for international success. Although we are a long way behind the highly successful yet still evolving European model, the Caribbean as a region, potentially, holds many of the necessary keys to success in this regard. However, some extremely challenging goals will have to be met.

O’Donoghue believes one of the corner stones to any such success is having the right staff in the right place at the right time. He firmly believes their on-line recruitment drive will certainly contribute very positively in this regard. Both sites combined now boast over 70,000 registered users and with the inter-linking of each site the ability to search two distinct regions is available immediately on-line. His message to employers is simple, ‘you can now control your recruitment drives from any computer anywhere be it in the office at home or abroad’ basically thereby reiterating the company’s message that the recruitment revolution has definitely begun.

Splash Advertising Ltd is very proud in achieving its first step in their stated pan Caribbean expansion plans.
