PLANTATION – Fine art photographer, David I. Muir will launch his highly anticipated coffee table book, “Pieces of Jamaica: The Real Rock Edition,” on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Suites Plantation, 311 N. University Drive, Plantation, FL 33324.

In “Pieces of Jamaica” Muir captures and celebrates the essence of the true Jamaican spirit in stunning photographs accompanied by stirring captions by writer, poet and journalist, Sonia Morgan. From the obscure handcart man in “Licensed to Drive” and the behind-the-scenes look at the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, to the scenic market life in “Painted Market” and the historic Devon House in “Reflections,” Muir takes us on a photographic journey across Jamaica highlighting the people and culture in a fresh, authentic way for book lovers everywhere. Much like his photo exhibits, Muir sidesteps the typical and focuses on the everyday aspects of Jamaican life and the spirit and ingenuity of the people, that make the country diverse, beautiful and something to be admired.

The book launch and photo exhibit of selected pieces is expected to attract hundreds from the Diaspora and friends of Jamaica and will feature a reading of selected poems on the pieces by Morgan, a cultural presentation of Kumina from Queen Maxine and a performance by Jazz saxophonist Randy Corinthian.
