Jamaican Ambassador Peter King found dead

KINGSTON – Jamaican Ambassador, Peter King was found at his home Monday morning with stab wounds. King was a vice president of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association and a director of the Jamaica Exporters Association at the time of his death.

Prime Minister Patterson described Ambassador King as “a distinguished public servant, whose expertise in international trade negotiations had earned him local, regional and international respect”.

The Prime Minister has urged the security forces to move swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Ambassador Peter King had addressed the South Florida Caribbean Bar Association at its annual Scholarship Gala in 1999 at the Grand Bay Wyndham Hotel in Coconut Grove. He was recognized as a leading figure in international trade negotiations on behalf of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
