Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce presents: “VOICES OF JAMAICA” – Feb. 25

“VOICES OF JAMAICA” will take you back in time with a review of the historical relationship between Haiti and Jamaica

MIAMI – On Thursday, February 25th the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Kendall/South Dade will host their annual “VOICES OF JAMAICA”, a great Jamaican celebration of Black History Month at the Kendall Church of God located at 8795 S.W. 112th Street in Miami starting at 6:30pm.

“VOICES OF JAMAICA” will take you back in time with a review of the historical relationship between Haiti and Jamaica, and celebrate a belated Chinese New Year—the Year of the Tiger and discuss the contributions of the Chinese to our Jamaican culture.

Cultural and economic perspectives will be presented by: Karen Andre, Attorney and Community Activist “Jamaican History/Haitian History: Inextricably Linked!”, Easton Lee, Jamaican Author and Folklorist “Contributions of the Chinese to our Jamaican Culture” and Haitian-American State Rep., Ronald Brisé will help us keep our economic focus, especially on opportunities for small businesses from the State of Florida.

Admission is free and thanks to their partners and entrepreneurs in the South Miami area, Jamaica Nurses Association of Florida and the Chinese Cultural Association. There will be lots of great refreshments and music.

This year’s program is also dedicated to our JAMAICANS for HAITI initiative to assist our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
