International Créole Month Set To Add Flavor to The Month of October

Miami – The rich cultural history of Creole is set to be celebrated during the month of October. The Caribbean American Heritage Florida, Inc(CAHFI) in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami have partnered to promote and celebrate the diversity of Creole Month. Historically, International Creole Day is celebrated on October 26th. This year there will a month of celebrations, music performances, cultural demonstrations and art exhibits that will take place throughout South Florida. A media reception will take place to kick off International Creole Month on October 1, 2013 from 6pm -8pm at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.

Creole Spice is one the programs that CAHFI has created and will soft launch this year. Creole Spice promotes Creole cuisine during International Créole Month at top Créole restaurants throughout South Florida. Participating restaurants include Tap Tap Tap(Haitian), Moca Cafe(Haitian) and Hop Peppers( Trinidadian).

Creole Jazz Sunday at Moca Café hosted by Boukan (North Miami)

International Créole & Culture Day – CarnaFam (Broward Regional Library)

International Créole Day at Libreri Mapou (Little Haiti)

Haitian American Chamber of Commerce Networking at Moca Cafe

Creole Art Exhibits:

Haitian Heritage Museum, Haitian Historical Museum and Archives, Little Haiti Cultural Center will all be promoting Creole/Caribbean Art.
