Broward County Library to offer Free SAT/ACT test prep, financial aid seminars and more
BROWARD COUNTY – Attention high school juniors, seniors and their parents/guardians – need help with the college admission and application process? Seeking financial aid and don’t know where to start? No worries!
Broward County Libraries is now offering a series of free “Ready for College” workshops to get teens (and their adults) ready and set for college! From the SATs to scholarships, we’ve got you covered.
The workshops, which are free and open to all Broward County juniors and seniors (public, private or home-schooled) begin in September 2018 and extend through April 2019.
There are four that focus on the admission process, and they include everything you need to know about financial aid/scholarships, college admissions applications, admissions essays, gathering college recommendation letters and creating a resume for internships or volunteer applications.
There are also seven free SAT/ACT test-prep classes held at libraries countywide that include practice tests and test-taking strategies to help you succeed and score high.
“Getting our students college-ready and college-bound is one of the best investments Broward County Library can make in the future of our community,” says Broward County Libraries Director Kelvin Watson. “So many of our young people, when faced with very real barriers to college admission, don’t push on – they don’t know how. We’re giving our teens the tools to go on to higher education and academic, professional and personal success.”
