Since 2008, this Distinguished Public Service Award has borne the name of the late Steve K. Fischel. A man of incredible spirit and commitment to justice, Steve spent more than 30 years at the U.S. Department of State working to shape laws and policies that would live up to our highest ideals as a nation of immigrants.
