Former Disney Executive to share “Hands On” experience with delegates at Caribbean Tourism Human Resources conference

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Delegates attending this year’s Caribbean Tourism Human Resources conference in Curacao will benefit from “hands on” experience to help them develop and implement plans and policies to strengthen their organisations’ competitive edge in tough economic times.

The former Disney executive, Mark David Jones – a highly demanded speaker, acclaimed author and business consultant – will deliver an executive workshop outlining the strategies and tactics that Disney and other Fortune 500 companies use to out distance themselves from the competition.

Themed, Breakthrough Results in Difficult Times: Proven Solutions from World-Class Companies, this workshop aims to provide practical and effective tools that can be implemented immediately at their various workplaces.

“This workshop will provide ‘low and no-cost’ business solutions effectively implemented by successful companies all over the world… and will help you implement them in your own organisations, for the results you have always desired,” states Jones, who led Disney’s Customer Service and Leadership Initiatives. A 26 year veteran of operations at the Walt Disney Company, Jones now heads the consulting firm, Small World Alliance, which is made up of former Disney executives.

During the four hour workshop, delegates will be exposed to the “chain reaction model” used by some of the world’s leading companies to achieve business excellence in difficult times, as well as the strategies used by legendary service providers like Disney, to deliver consistent service that exceeds customers’ expectations. Other topics include how to create a high performance team culture and how to integrate the dynamics of an organisation to sustain consistent results and personal excellence.

The workshop, which will be held on the final day of the conference, targets senior and operational manager, project managers, sales professionals, consultants and human resource professionals. It is also being marketed as a stand alone workshop that persons can attend.

The 5th Tourism Human Resources Conference is being held in Curacao from May 27-29 2009, and is being organised by the Caribbean Tourism Organization in collaboration with the Curacao Tourism Board (CTB). It has as its theme, Best Practices for Creating a Motivated and Productive Tourism Workforce.
