FL Department of Health Receives CDC Approval to Redirect Funding
Tallahassee, Fla. – Today (Oct. 17), the Joint Information Center (JIC) provided an update on the state’s preparedness efforts for Ebola.
The Florida Department of Health today received interim approval from the CDC to move forward with redirecting federal grant funds to purchase the necessary equipment and supplies to ensure Florida is prepared for the emerging Ebola virus.
The CDC has indicated that Florida will receive a Notice of Award next week which will serve as the official approval for repurposing this portion of the funds. Florida is working to redirect over $7 million in federal grant funding to Ebola preparedness efforts, specifically for the purchase of high-level Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect our health care workers.
