Expedia Reports Increase in Travel Demand for Antigua
BELLEVUE, Wash. – The Expedia® group, on of the world’s largest online travel companies, reported today that travel demand garnered via Expedia.com® and Hotels.com® points of sale for Antigua hotels grew more than 45 percent in the first quarter of 2014 when compared to the same time period in 2013.
Expedia reports a substantial increase in demand from international markets in the first quarter of 2014 to Antigua from countries such as Italy (125 percent), France (more than 155 percent), Germany (60 percent) and Russia (nearly 40 percent). The United States continues to be the top producing international feeder market with a reported growth of more than 55 percent, with the United Kingdom and Canada reporting a growth of more than 50 percent and nearly 9 percent respectively.
