Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration of the history and culture of the U.S. Latinx and Hispanic communities, commemorating these communities’ contributions to American society at large. Meet and create with Mexican Artist Pepe Mar and create your own mythical Alebrijes! Alebrijes are imaginary creatures that have elements from different animals that are colorfully painted. Alebrijes were originally created by Mexican artist and papier mache crafter, Pedro Linares, in the 1930s.
