Eight76 Records announces agreement with MusicNet

Eight76 Records announced the signing of a digital distribution agreement with MusicNet, the world’s leading online music provider. MusicNet creates the customized music download and subscription experiences offered by top global companies such as AOL (America Online), Yahoo!, Virgin Digital, Trans World Entertainment, MTV, and HMV under their own brands.

Eight76 Records will immediately deliver and begin registering its content with MusicNet so that their catalog can be made available via online retailers and P2P network operators. This will include the acclaimed debut album from Fyah Blaze, Truths & Rights, Evette’s Lately, and the much anticipated sophomore album from Chrisinti, Again. Reggae fans can also continue to access music via the company’s website, www.Eight76records.com.

In a relatively short period of time, Eight76 Records has established itself as one of the fastest-growing independent reggae labels in North America and the Caribbean. Already the young label boasts an impressive catalog of full-length CDs and single releases from hot up and comers like Chrisinti and Fyah Blaze as well as reggae superstars such as Luciano and Marcia Griffiths.

“Digital distribution is the key to maximizing market reach today,” says Eight76 Records VP Myshjua Archibald. “This relationship with MusicNet opens up a wealth of opportunity not just for us, but for the many other independent labels in this industry. The reggae market is driven largely by singles, and digital delivery makes it easier to get singles into the marketplace.”

MusicNet’s partners are world-class consumer brands that wish to generate new revenues and extend their customer relationships by offering a premium music service. They provide the established consumer base and the marketing resources required for customer acquisition, while MusicNet can provide everything else needed to offer the service, including a library of licensed content, technology and delivery systems.
