MIAMI GARDENS – Goldson Spine Rehabilitation Center in partnership with the City of Miami Gardens & Cox Media Group will hold the Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. 5K Run/Walk in the Gardens at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex located at 3000 N.W. 199 Street, Miami Gardens, Florida 33056 on Saturday February 21. Late registration will be at 6 AM, with a Zumba warm up at 7 AM, and the race begins at 7:30 AM. The 5K run/walk will be followed by a Health Expo. There will be children’s activities, music, and food vendors.
The registration fee is a low $10 to encourage the community to move their bodies for a healthier lifestyle. Proceeds will go to the Fidel S. Goldson Sr. Scholarship Foundation to benefit Carol City High & Kingston College. We will be accepting donations for the two schools. Jamaican school alumni’s can sign up as a team. Their school could be the recipient of proceeds for scholarships at next year’s Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. 5K Run/Walk. If they register as a Jamaican Alumni team by February 6th, and if their team member comes in first in the Alumni schools category, their school will be spotlighted as one of the recipients’ of next year’s scholarships. We are inviting churches, groups, and companies to sign up as teams so the first of their members to cross the finish line will receive a medal.
