Common Visa Policy for CARICOM Countries
ST. LUCIA – A Common Visa Policy will be in effect in ten (10) Caribbean countries from January 15th, 2007 to May 15th 2007.
The following countries have agreed to function as a Single Domestic Space during this period:
Antigua and Barbuda
Jamaica
Barbados
St. Kitts & Nevis
Dominica
Saint Lucia
Grenada
St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Guyana
Trinidad and Tobago
Except for nations listed below, nationals of all countries visiting any of those states for any purpose during that period will be required to have a Caricom Special Visa.
i. Nationals of CARICOM Member States (Except Haiti)
ii. Canada
iii. France and its overseas countries and territories
iv. Germany
v. Ireland
vi. Italy
vii. Japan
viii. The Netherlands and its overseas countries and territories
ix. United Kingdom and its dependent territories
x. South Africa
xi. Spain
xii. United States of America and its dependent territories
xiii. All other nationals who already enjoy a form of status before 15th January 2007 conferred by any of the Immigration Authorities of the ten (10) countries which form the single domestic space and which is valid until at least 15 may 2007.
Countries have agreed that Visas will be issued from specific issuing sites overseas.
Jamaica will be issuing Visas from its Consulates in Miami, New York and Toronto.
Trinidad and Tobago will issue Visas in New Delhi, India and Sydney Australia.
Barbados will be issuing Visas from its High Commission in London.
While the policy applies to visits to the region for any purpose, it will facilitate the movement of visitors for Cricket World Cup 2007 which falls within the effective period.
The common Visa arrangements are part of wider measures designed to facilitate the movement of persons around the region to provide for limited border inspections after full inspection at the first point of entry into the single space.
