Coconut Grove grooves to the sound of Caribbean Jazz

COCONUT GROVE – On Sunday, November 26, Coconut Grove was grooving to the sweet sounds of smooth Caribbean jazz rhythms at the “Caribbean Jazz Brunch on the Bay”.

“Caribbean Jazz Brunch on the Bay” featured legendary Reggae group Third World, world–renowned jazz saxophonist Dean Frasier, musical icon Winston “Merritone” Blake, Haitian Jazz Guitarist Bemol, Eguene Gray and the Miami Pan Symphony Steel Orchestra.

The City of Miami was pleased with the attendance of over 2,500 people which included the Consul General of Jamaica, Deputy Consul of Trinidad & Tobago, President of the Caribbean Bar Association and Commissioner of Lauderdale Lakes.

This was a first for the City of Miami to have a Caribbean themed Jazz Brunch. ”With the growth of the Caribbean community in South Florida, it was a natural idea”, states Julie Mansfield of the City of Miami, Film Arts Culture and Entertainment.

The free event was sponsored by Royal Caribbean International and BET J. Royal Caribbean International gave away a seven day cruise for two to the Caribbean to a lucky attendee.

Caribbean Jazz Brunch on the Bay was produced by Infinite Markets/Infinite Marketing Group with proceeds to benefiting the Jamaican Children’s Heart Fund and other community organizations.
