Citi Jamaica receives nomination for 2008 Corporate Citizen of the Americas Award
MIAMI — Citi Jamaica a leading global financial services company has been nominated by the Trust of the Americas, an affiliate of the Organization of American States (OAS), as finalist for the 2008 Corporate Citizen of the Americas Award, which recognizes companies that have implemented innovative programs that benefit the community in which they operate.
Citi Jamaica is one of 10 finalists of the prestigious award as per its support of the Jamaica Business Council for HIV/AIDS.
The council helps combat HIV/AIDS in Jamaica through policy, prevention and treatment strategies in the workplace. The Council is the first of its kind in the business community in Jamaica and seeks to create open, honest discussion and promote awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Citibank is a founding member of the Jamaica Business Council for HIV/AIDS.
“We are honored to receive this nomination, as it is a testament to our commitment to contribute to the well-being of Jamaica,” said Peter Moses, Citi Country Officer for Jamaica.
The Trust for the Americas and OAS will announce the winner and two honorable mentions for the fifth annual Corporate Citizen of the Americas Award on November 20, 2008, in Washington, DC. The goal of the award is to encourage more companies to implement socially responsible practices.
