On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Consulate General is pleased to extend warmest wishes to all for a joyous yuletide season and a prosperous New Year.
As pertains in many parts of the world, Christmas occupies a special place in the hearts of our Trinidad and Tobago community. Undoubtedly, the Trinbagonian festivity bears its own distinct flavour that is represented in the unique cuisine, music and decor. This is a time where there is a prevailing atmosphere of goodwill, fellowship with each other and merriment.
At the heart of the fellowship and goodwill that surrounds the season, lay the spirits of hope and love that ring clear in the biblical account of the Christmas story. The birth of Christ is seen as a show of the unconditional love of God; and His redeeming character is revealed as He provides an avenue for man to grow in spirituality and conquer the forces of sin and darkness.
As we partake in the Christmas celebrations and journey onward as a People in 2012, let us not only find solace in the hope of a peaceful, loving and gracious God who continues to guide the path of our diaspora and nation, but let us also seize the opportunity to be vessels of hope, peace and love to our fellow man.
