MIAMI – Francois Frossard of Francois Frossard Design (FFD), one of Miami’s foremost authorities on architecture and interior design, has been appointed Executive Interior Designer of five-star, all-inclusive resort company, Palace Resorts. As lead designer for Palace Resorts, Francois is responsible for the overall design and aesthetic of all resort locations, which includes eight properties throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, including the company’s first-ever resort in Jamaica, debuting in early 2015.

“Palace Resorts has been celebrated for our ability to consistently deliver the highest caliber product and continually surpass the expectations of our valued guests year after year. After successfully collaborating on the fantastical designs of our signature property, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun, partnering with Francois Frossard in a long-term capacity was a strategic next step,” said Gibran Chapur, Executive Vice President of Palace Resorts. “Francois’ vision and spirit are in line with our brand’s DNA. As we look to the brand’s exciting future in new markets, we are confident this mutually beneficial partnership will prove to be a winning combination.”

Francois first became familiar with the Palace Resorts portfolio in 2012 when he oversaw the redesign of the “Sunrise” section at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun. Here Francois introduced cutting-edge designs to the newly expanded resort, including a dedicated lobby; NOIR nightclub; Sky Bar lounge; and two signature restaurants, Momo and La Gondola. Following the success of Sunrise, Francois later designed the “Nizuc” section of Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort Cancun, including the lobby; beauty salon; standard rooms; Presidential suites (a residential rental concept later adopted by other properties); Nuptials suites; and new dining venues, Manglar, Sweet & Coffee Shop, The Tea Room, and The English Pub.

This design effort led to several other projects with Palace Resorts, including the multimillion-dollar enhancement project at the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande (opening in early 2015), the company’s first resort location outside of Mexico. Francois elevated the property’s appeal with chic Caribbean décor and design reflective of the resort’s Jamaican setting. The property includes five dining destinations and newly expanded meeting spaces, all of which Francois designed in his typical grand style. A tropical haven that is both respective and reflective of its Jamaican backdrop, Moon Palace Jamaica Grande is expected to raise the bar on the all-inclusive category with the help of Francois’ designs.

“It is a great honor to work alongside one of the greatest visionaries in the industry, who not only appreciates the needs of today and tomorrow’s travelers, but also isn’t afraid to take risks in order to meet and exceed their expectations,” said Francois. “As a designer, there isn’t a more rewarding experience than to work collaboratively with a company that fundamentally understands the intersection of great form and function.”

French native Francois Frossard, based in Miami for over 12 years, is widely known within the international nightlife and entertainment industry as the genius behind the award-winning designs of iconic Miami nightclubs Story, SET, and Mansion. In recent years, however, his vast portfolio has evolved to also include pioneering concepts for the hospitality industry. In December 2014, Francois opened a brand new office and showroom near Miami’s celebrated Midtown, Wynwood, and Design District neighborhoods, featuring open workspaces, rotating art, and a robust calendar of special events.
