Caribbean Roadshow Breakfast Briefing on “Doing Business in the Caribbean”

DORAL – The Florida Foreign Trade Association (F.F.T.A.) in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service, the Miami Free Zone, Global Trade Insurance, and International Cargo Logistics held a Caribbean Roadshow breakfast briefing on “Doing Business in the Caribbean” on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Miami Free Zone in Doral, Florida.

The briefing aimed for local U.S. small-to-medium sized enterprises to assess the market potential for products/services in the Caribbean Countries. The +200 registered participants got a wide overview from Robert O. Jones, Regional Senior Commercial Officer of the Caribbean, U.S. Commercial Service; J. Eduardo Torres, South Florida Region Director, U.S. Commercial Service; Luis Castillo, Global Trade Insurance (Registered EXIM Bank Broker); and Paul Jasinski, President, Ocean Lines Logistics.

The topics covered emphasized on the benefits of the Caribbean markets, the investment climates, market entry strategies, best prospects for U.S. exports, trade regulations and standards, business travel, and key contacts.

As an added value service after the presentation each registered participant had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with each presenter. The admission to the event was absolutely free to all local U.S. businesses.
