Caribbean International Leadership Summit in Barbados planned for November

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The inaugural Caribbean International Leadership Summit will take place November 12-13 at the Hilton Barbados.

The summit will bring together well-respected and successful leaders of international organizations to discuss leadership strategies in the rapidly changing international marketplace, and to share insight into continued strategies for success in the face of new global challenges.

The Caribbean International Leadership Summit, Journeying Towards Global Competitiveness, is hosted by the University of West Indies (UWI) and its three business schools: Cave Hill School of Business, Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and the Mona School of Business.

Sir Allen Stanford, Chairman and CEO of Stanford Financial Group will address his vision for the Caribbean region in a speech at the event. Other speakers include Arthur Lok Jack, founder benefactor of the UWI Graduate School of
Business in Trinidad; Margaret Young, Managing Partner and CEO of the Mill Square Group and a graduate of Harvard Business School; and former GE
Chairman and CEO Jack Welch.

The summit, which is open to the public, will bring together CEO’s, Boards of Directors, executive management from private- and public-sector organizations, business owners, strategists, pioneers and students of leadership from throughout the Caribbean and beyond.

A wide range of topics impinging on Caribbean global competitiveness will be discussed, including cultural revitalization, comparison of Caribbean leadership to its global competitors, the impact of climate change on profitability and leadership in the digital age.

According to Sir Allen Stanford, the event will be an important impetus for creating leadership momentum in the region. “I am delighted to be taking part in the Caribbean International Leadership Summit. This is an important initiative for the future of Caribbean business, and the summit will address current issues regarding the region’s role in the global marketplace in a constructive and vital way,” he said.

Program participants will have the opportunity to interact with and question these international business leaders over the two day Summit in a forum that addresses the most pressing concerns of both Caribbean and global economies.

Dr. Jeannine Comma, CEO of the Cave Hill School of Business at the University of the West Indies, expressed pleasure at the school’s involvement in hosting the conference: “This Summit and its speakers represent a wealth of leadership experience and success. We are looking forward to a discussion of the vital components of leadership in the Caribbean and what is needed to move the region further in ability to compete and win internationally,” she said.

The summit is an open-registration conference and the cost is US $1,925.00. Those registering before October 31st will save $200. Interested participants may register as an individual or group, for one day or for the full two-day conference.
