Caribbean Bar Association and Jamaican Consulate reach out to farm workers in Belle Glade

BELLE GLADE – On Saturday, April 26, the Caribbean Bar Association participated in a
Community Outreach Initiative with the Jamaican Consulate and the Registar General Department in the predominantly farming community of Belle Glade, Florida.

The event was held at “Hole in the Wall,” a popular Jamaican restaurant. The attendees, mainly farmworkers, received passport and other consular services.

Consular General Ricardo Allicock addressed issues of concern to the local community, and Sherylle Gordon, President, Caribbean Bar Association, discussed a variety of legal issues with attendees.

Due to the overwhelming need for these services in Belle Glade, a follow up Initiative is tentatively
planned for May 17, 2008 at the same location.
