Caribbean-American owned marketing agency launches innovative “Social Marketing” division

MIAMI – On the heels of a successful foothold in the marketplace, Circle of One Marketing has formalized its commitment to promoting social issues by creating a progressive Social Marketing Division. This new division of “The Circle” will focus exclusively and aggressively on non-profit, government and corporate clients who are committed to promoting social change.

Circle of One Marketing is a minority-owned, full-service advertising and marketing agency whose expertise in connecting their client base with emerging African-American and Caribbean markets has earned them a host of high-profile, A-list clients. Building on that success, the company will apply traditional and non-traditional marketing and public relations techniques coupled with public health intervention strategies to promote social issues including HIV, Foster Care, Anti-Smoking and more. Currently, the agency is implementing as foster care project, the Miami Heart Gallery, an initiative of The Children’s Trust.

“The ultimate goal of any social marketing campaign is to influence behavior and inspire action,” said Melissa Dunn, the newly promoted Social Marketing Director. “In addition to marketing products and services, we will create campaigns that mobilize the community and motivate people to improve their quality of life”. Melissa Dunn joined Circle of One Marketing in 2006 as the Project Manager for the State of Florida’s Medicaid Reform initiative in Broward County. Ms. Dunn touts 6 years of experience as the Director of Community Health Initiatives and Health Systems for the American Cancer Society’s New York City office.

There are over 19,000 non profits organizations in Florida who report over $80 billion in assets and $48 billion in revenue. Over 32% of them are South Florida-based with assets totaling over $25 billion and revenues over $13 billion. Recognizing the potential of this niche market, which includes universities and hospitals, Circle of One Marketing’s new division will offer its clients branding, cause marketing, social marketing, event management and media advocacy services. “I can’t think of a better project for Circle of One to launch its social marketing division than with The Children’s Trust Miami Heart Gallery. The agency has fully embraced this adoption promotion initiative with great dedication and skill”, said Emily Cardenas, Senior Communications Manager, The Children’s Trust.
