Caribbean American elected to Florida Bar Board of Governors

MIAMI – Juliet Murphy Roulhac is an electrical utility and insurance defense Trial Lawyer. She accomplished both Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Florida.

Juliet Murphy Roulhac is a Jamaican and was recently elected to the Florida Bar Board of Governors and will be sworn in June at the Annual Florida Bar meeting.

Juliet Roulhac

Roulhac was admitted to the Florida Bar and the US District Court for the Southern District in 1988, and the Middle District in 1998 and holds the position of Senior Attorney at Florida Power & Light Company’s Law Department and practices in the area of complex tort and electrical litigation. She is also a certified Arbitrator and previously served as a Lemon Law Arbitrator for the Attorney General. She has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating as determined by her peers.

She is very involved in Bar and community activities. She served on the Florida Bar’s Board of Governors as the President of the Young Lawyers Division. In that position she also served on the Executive Committee of the Florida Bar’s Board of Governors. Her Florida Bar activities include past and current memberships on the Florida Bar’s Legal Needs of Children Committee, Vice Chair of the JAST Committee, the Federal Practice Committee, the CLE Committee and the Florida Bar’s Citizen’s Forum. She is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association, FAWL – Dade County Chapter, and the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. She has served twice as a delegate representing the Florida Bar to the International Civitas Program in Budapest, Hungary, and the Ambassador to Ambassador Law Leadership Program in South Africa. She was a former federal appointee to the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission – Southern District.

Her honors and awards include the 2002 Legal Leadership Award, the 2002 Champion of Law Award, the 1999 Paul J. May Professionalism Award from the Broward County Bar Association – YLD, 1999 Attorney of the Year for the statewide firm of Figueroa, Gonzalez & Hoecker, inclusion in Who’s Who of American Women 1995 and Manchester Who’s Who 2004.
