Business Opportunities in Jamaica to be Highlighted at Investment Seminar in Washington

WASHINGTON, DC – In an effort to highlight business opportunities between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Jamaica, the Jamaica Trade Council of Greater Philadelphia (JTCGP), staged an investment seminar on October 23, at the Pyramid Club, in that city.

President of the JTCGP, Dr. Harold Mignott, told JIS News, that the seminar, entitled: ‘Our Global Market: A Return on Investment’, will present a rare opportunity to engage the top business leaders and Government officials in the Philadelphia area, in discussions with prominent Government leaders and businesses from Jamaica.

“Our intention is to establish a clear and substantial path for exploring, entertaining and implementing new investment opportunities between Jamaica and our region,” he said.

Presenters at the seminar included Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Anthony Johnson; Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter; Governor of the State of Pennsylvania, Edward Rendell, as well as leaders from the business community of the city.

The JTCGP was formed in 2003, and is the leading group in the north east region of the Jamaican Diaspora, promoting trade relations and economic co-operation through partnerships with public and private companies, within Jamaica and the greater Philadelphia area. (JIS)
