The Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association Step Up The Pace With Overseas Markets During Low Season

PROVIDENCALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – Although most of the Caribbean is experiencing a relatively quiet low season, the Turks & Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association (TCHTA) has increased the tempo by organizing a sales blitz targeting key tourism markets in the US for its hotel members.

The TCHTA’s sales blitz visited over forty qualified travel agents and tour operators between Charlotte and Atlanta, two major gateway markets to the Turks & Caicos Islands.

Grace Bay Club, The Somerset, Nikki Beach, The Regent Palms and The Sands all supported the sales blitz which was an excellent relationship building event. Most of the hotels offered the travel agents special value added rates and attractive extras for guests booking their vacation in 2009 and beyond.

Karen Whitt, President of the Hotel & Tourism Association commented,“ The trip was a huge success and a very valuable communications tool during these quieter months. The agents were extremely receptive and all fully support the Turks & Caicos as one of their top destinations. It’s essential to maintain a strong presence among our stakeholders and we are confident that we will continue to see these agents recommending our resorts to their clients. We have a full calendar of events which we will be attending over the coming months. We also plan to hold a long weekend destination familiarization trip for these specific travel agents during the latter part of August 2009”.
