4,500 cruise passengers visit Monday and Tuesday, 19,000 last week

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Nearly 5,000 cruise ship passengers visited St. Kitts on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

On Monday, the 3,597-passenger Azura arrived from Portugal with 3,031 passengers and 1192 crew and left later for Antigua.

On Tuesday, the 729-capacity Fred Olson Cruise Line Braemar arrived from Tortola with 912 passengers and 373 crew members and the 540-passenger Silver Spirit, which was scheduled to visit on Wednesday, arrived from Dominica with 498 passengers and a crew of 372. The Silver Spirit departs for St. Barths while the Braemar leaves for St. Lucia.

Most of the passengers came ashore and went shopping, sun and sea bathing, sailing, snorkeling, hiking, and on island tours via the scenic railway, buses and taxis.

Last week 18,980 passengers and 7,495 crew members visited St. Kitts from six ships.
