2010-2011 Cruise Season strongest ever for Port of Miami with four new ships

MIAMI – The Port of Miami kicks off its 2010-2011 cruise season this month with four new ships in the line-up and more reasons than ever why cruising out of Miami is the best bet for travelers heading to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexico and other exciting destinations.

The new vessels include Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic, one of the largest and most modern ships on the seas today. The Norwegian Epic arrived at its Miami homeport this summer and has been hailed as one of the most exciting new additions to the Port of Miami fleet with its innovative style of cruising and high-end Vegas-type entertainment with seven-day itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Other new arrivals in the line-up include:

· The Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Cruises’ latest upscale and widely acclaimed Solstice-Class ship. The 2,800 passenger vessel will sail alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Miami.

· Oceania Cruises will deliver its ultra high-end luxury ship, the Marina. This first new build for Oceania will arrive to Miami in early February 2011 with inaugural activities.

· Costa Cruises will return to the Port of Miami when the Atlantica arrives to Miami on January 7, 2011. The Atlantica will operate a series of seven-night alternative Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises

“Cruising from the Port of Miami has never been more exciting,” said Port of Miami Director Bill Johnson. “Four new vessels over a seven month span positions the Port of Miami to deliver for the strongest season ever. We are looking forward to welcoming four million cruise passengers over the next year.”
