BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Wisden’s newest book, the Wisden History of the Cricket World Cup, will be launched in November 2006. Published in association with Miller Publishing Company Ltd. of Barbados, this comprehensive book will review every Cricket World Cup since the first in 1975, and preview the rapidly approaching 2007 competition, to be held in the West Indies.

Edited by the Caribbean’s leading cricket commentator and journalist, Tony Cozier, with a foreword from former West Indies, World Cup winning Captain Clive Lloyd, the book contains over 200 fantastic photographs by Patrick Eagar, one of the world’s top cricket photographers. With the text written by world renowned cricket writers, including Matthew Engel, Peter Roebuck, David Frith, Mike Coward and Alan Lee, and the presentation of statistics of every World Cup match ever played, including tournament records, this book will be a ‘must-have’ for cricket fans.

This is the second book produced by Miller Publishing in collaboration with Wisden. The first, Wisden Caribbean Cricket – Images of 75 years of the West Indian Game, was published in November 2004.

Miller Publishing retains the distribution rights for the Caribbean and North America and, according to Brian Toppin, Book Division Sales Manager: “We are eager to launch this book throughout the region and in the USA and Canada. With so many die-hard cricket fans in the islands, as well as Caribbean, Asian and other expatriates in North America who still follow the game, passionately supporting their former homelands, we are confident this book will be well received and appreciated.”
