Wine & Jerk Food: A Passionate Union of Flavor & Culture

PEMBROKE PINES – Purple Reign, Inc.(P.R.I.), an event planning and consulting group specifically dedicated to exploring the joys of pairing wines with foods of the African Diaspora, will be pairing old and new world wines with everything from jerk lamb and jerk pork to jerk snapper and jerk lobster.

All lovers of Caribbean food and wine attending the 2006 Jamaican Jerk Festival on Sunday, September 24 can stop by The Purple Reign Inc. Wine Pavilion and participate in a very revolutionary an exciting project. PRI will over free vibrant wine seminars and wine tasting throughout the day.

One of P.R.I.’s founders, Dinkinish O’Connor, is a food and wine writer and has written for The Miami Herald, Wine Spectator Online, Conde Nast Traveler, Time Out New York among other publications.

According to O’Connor, “the Jerk Festival, both in Miami and Jamaica, is a wonderful event that brings thousands of people from all over the world, from all walks of life—from culinary professionals to local and international families—to feast on every possible jerk item while enjoying plays, music, family time, and building relationships with people from across the globe”.
